Phoenix AGM

Another year has somehow passed and on Tuesday 18th November we held our annual general meeting. The chairman's and MD's reports were both positive and even the financial report added up! There were many thanks to people who have put a lot of time and effort into the running of the band over the past year and a few changes of members on the committee.

Our thanks go to Julie who has been band secretary for many years and done a fantastic job. Unfortunately due to her degree studies, her job and a house move, she has decided it is time for a break from being band secretary. Thanks also to two other members of the committee who are stepping down, John and Roger. Chris will be continuing as chairman, Mike and Bev as much appreciated committee members and Colin as treasurer.

New members to the committee are myself and Matt (we dont remember volunteering, but we will give it our best shot, on the promise that committee meetings involve tea and cakes!) The new band secrertary is Fiona, who bravely volunteered when it seemed no-one was going to on Tuesday night. Thanks to all those who help with the running of the band the players and especially to our conductor Paul. An all-round good evening and hopefully the start of another good year for the band.
