Musical Director Vacancy
It is with much sadness that we are having to say goodbye to Tom our Musical Director of the past two years. Tom's work is taking him to pastures new and as such he will be leaving his post at Phoenix come the end of July.
We are inviting applications from people who have experience of running bands / ensembles, preferably we'd want someone who has experience of conducting a brass band.
The Band
Phoenix is a 2nd section contesting band from Crewkerne in Somerset which formed in 1995. We have strong band of 25 players, but we are soon to advertise for 1 x solo cornet to complete our contesting line up.
We rehearse once a week, on a Tuesday evening, in our own band room in Crewkerne, Somerset. Our diary normally consists of about a dozen or more jobs spaced throughout the year, including fetes, concerts and competitions.
The Role
We are seeking a confident and energetic Musical Director who has had experience of conducting bands who is based reasonably locally to Crewkerne. The ideal candidate must be free on Tuesday evenings, but also we like to up rehearsals to twice a week in the run up to competitions, with the additional rehearsals normally falling on a Thursday evening (although we could work around this).
Expenses are offered and can be negotiated with the committee prior to appointment.
