Victorious at Exmouth
The hard work at rehearsals over the past few weeks paid off yesterday as Phoenix took to the stage at the annual Exmouth Brass Band Entertainment Contest. The contest is an open contest with all bands playing a 25 minute own choice programme of music. Awards are given for the best placed band in each section, the most entertaining band, the best trombone section, the best percussion section, the best soloist, and the best performance overall.
Am pleased to announce that not only did we win the best 2nd Section band award, but our principal cornet, Matt Read, won the best soloist, and to top the day off we were also awarded the best performance overall.
