New Conductor Found

We are extremely pleased and proud to announce that after a relatively short search, the band has found itself a new Musical Director in Sam Hairsine. Sam is a Bandmaster in the Marines based locally at the Yeovilton base. Sam comes to the band with an excellent track record and brass band pedigree, having been tutored Euphonium by Bob Childs and performed with and conducted many bands throughout the country.

Sam is a great ready made replacement for our outgoing MD, Dave Hatton who himself is moving on in the Army having been selected onto the Bandmasters course at Kneller Hall. Whilst it is sad to see people move on from the band, Dave leaves with our best wishes and thanks for all of the hard work that he put into the band over the 3 years he has been at the helm. We are certain that Dave will go onto even bigger and better successes within the brass band movement as both a player and conductor.

We're looking forward to a new, and fingers crossed succesful, era under Sam's leadership. We will be updating the band area of the website with a new profile all about Sam shortly and we'll also be updating the diary now that a number of jobs have been confirmed.
