New MD Appointed

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed a new Musical Director for the band. Adam Glynn, formerly Musical Director at Weymouth Concert Brass, joined us in January to prepare us for the area contest on Sunday, but we are extremely pleased to announce that he has decided to join us permanently.

Looking Ahead to Torquay

The area contest is fast approaching ... it's this Sunday (9th March) in fact. Adam has been busy preparing the band for the battle on stage. This year's piece will be a good test for all bands in our section, with some beautiful slow melodies and quite contrasting louder and more rhythmic sections. Most parts in the band are featured somewhere in the piece so there will be no hiding for anyone come Sunday.

Adam stepped in at the last minute in January to help take the band to the contest. His enthusiasm and encouragement have helped get the band up to a good standard, and we're all looking forward to taking to the stage to show the adjudicators what we can do.

A huge thanks to everyone in the band for time and dedication over the past few months. The biggest thanks of all must go to Adam for his time, patience and enthusiasm he's put into the rehearsals. Fingers crossed we can put on a good performance on Sunday.

If anyone wants to come and hear the band play, join us at the Riviera Centre from 10am (exact playing time is unknown as the order of play is not drawn until the morning).
